Modernizing Workforce Scheduling for Operational Readiness

E.K. Associates partnered with SDI to support the implementation of the Kronos Workforce Telestaff Scheduling System (WFTS) across multiple divisions at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). The engagement focused on modernizing legacy scheduling practices, improving staffing efficiency, and enabling reliable, transparent workforce management aligned with operational and labor requirements.
By combining business process analysis, system configuration support, structured testing, user training, and documentation leadership, E.K. Associates helped LAWA streamline scheduling workflows, reduce manual effort, and prepare operational teams for sustained success.

We analyzed legacy staffing workflows, including shift structures, union rules, division-specific scheduling models, overtime logic, and manual workarounds, and translated these requirements into optimized WFTS configurations aligned with real-world operations.
We converted historical scheduling and assignment data into WFTS, validated system rules, and ensured clean data migration to support smooth onboarding across participating divisions.
We designed and delivered hands-on training, developed instructional materials, and provided go-live support to accelerate adoption and reinforce long-term operational readiness.
We facilitated structured testing cycles to validate workflows, exception rules, notifications, reporting accuracy, and cross-division scheduling scenarios prior to launch.
We developed and refined a complete documentation suite, improving clarity, consistency, and usability to support sustainment, onboarding, and future scalability.
We coordinated closely with Subject Matter Experts across divisions to validate requirements, confirm scheduling rules, and support phased rollout activities.
