Strengthening LAWA’s Enterprise Technology Portfolio Through PMO Modernization

E.K. Associates, in partnership with Ross & Baruzzini, supported the Information Management & Technology Group (IMTG) at Los Angeles World Airports (LAWA) by providing strategic project management and PMO support across the airport’s enterprise technology portfolio. Our team played a key role in maturing LAWA’s technology governance framework, standardizing delivery practices, and improving execution quality across a diverse set of airport IT initiatives.
By embedding directly within LAWA’s PMO, E.K. Associates strengthened structure, visibility, and coordination, enabling more predictable delivery outcomes and stronger operational alignment across divisions, vendors, and stakeholders.

We worked side-by-side with LAWA teams, delivering hands-on support in planning, analysis, schedule management, governance, and execution across multiple concurrent technology projects.
We formalized PMO governance through structured gated reviews, standardized funding approval workflows, portfolio-level reporting, and oversight aligned with PMI best practices.
We modernized LAWA’s project knowledge environment by evaluating, selecting, and deploying PMBOK-aligned knowledge management tools that improved collaboration, document control, and organizational knowledge retention.
We designed and implemented comprehensive change management frameworks to support technology rollouts, system enhancements, and operational transitions—ensuring stakeholder alignment and minimizing disruption.
