Overview

E.K. Associates partnered with Jacobs Engineering to support the implementation of Los Angeles World Airports’ Facilities Management Implementation Project (FMIP)—a strategic initiative focused on modernizing facilities operations and improving alignment between LAWA’s financial systems and its enterprise asset management platform.

E.K. Associates provided deep expertise in project management, requirements gathering, SAP financial structures, and Maximo integration. Through comprehensive user interviews, business process analysis, and system-to-system design, E.K. Associates helped establish a scalable, unified foundation for asset tracking, financial reporting, and operational efficiency across LAWA’s facilities organization.

The engagement resulted in a streamlined, future-ready architecture enabling improved asset management, greater financial accuracy, and enhanced visibility into facilities operations across one of the world’s busiest airport enterprises.

E.K. Advantage

Enterprise-Level SAP Financial Systems Analysis

We led the evaluation and interpretation of LAWA’s SAP FI/CO financial architecture, mapping account structures, cost centers, dependencies, and business rules essential to FMIP integration and asset-financial alignment.

End-to-End Requirements Gathering & Functional Design

We conducted cross-functional user interviews spanning finance, payroll, IT, operations, and engineering to capture current-state processes, clarify workflows, identify integration gaps, and document future-state requirements.

Integrated SAP–Maximo Systems Strategy

We developed detailed integration recommendations aligning LAWA’s SAP Financial Accounting Management Information System (FAMIS) with the Maximo Asset Management platform to support asset lifecycle tracking and financial transparency.

Data Architecture & Integration Blueprint

We designed data models and entity relationship diagrams defining how SAP, Maximo, and related systems would exchange information—establishing the blueprint for technical implementation.

PMO Leadership & Governance Enablement

We maintained and managed project governance, ensuring disciplined execution, stakeholder alignment, and high-quality deliverables throughout the FMIP lifecycle.
